      “FTP operation failed: bind failure: Can’t assign requested address”

      What does this mean and how do I fix it?

      Ok I set this up. It works fine for the interface box. When I point it to the IDX box I need to get the files from I get the above message.

      I can run the FTP using the same host name from the command line.

      Any ideas on what to look at.   I did try the host name and the actually IP address of the box with the same result.

          For those of you who may see this problem and wonder what the heck did you do to fix it.

          Runnig AIX 5.3.0.   Cloverleaf 5.5.1.

          There are two spots to put the host name / TCP/IP adderrss in the FTP options tab.

          The first one on the from is labeled “Host Name or IP address”  Just blank it out and all worked fine.   Not sure why it is there if you don’t need it.

            I think it is used for a cluster of Cloverleaf machines. Anyone know for sure?

              Put the host name you are connecting to under:

               Fileset/Ftp->Ftp Options->Ftp Host Information-> Host

              The other:

               Fileset/Ftp->Ftp Options->Ftp Options->Host ame or IP Address

              is a misnomer and should be called “Socket Local IP Binding” or somethinf similar.  WE have written an enhancement request.

              From the User’s Guide:

              This feature allows you to control which local IP address is used by Cloverleaf
