FTP connection drops

Hello All,

    We are running AIX 5.2 and QDX5.3 Rev-2. The issue we have run into a couple of times is the FTP connection dropping with the following error fom the thead log.

[pdl :PDL :ERR /0:  mm_i_mi_tcp] PDL signaled exception: code 1, msg device error (remote side probably shut down)

We looked in the site recovery database and found 148 transactions waiting to be sent. We then restarted the outbound thread and the balance of the transactions flowed to the remote site.

Has anyone come across this problem, any information would be greatly appreciated. We are currently checking with our network team to see if they see any firewall issues.
