Fileset FTP

I have done a search on “FTP” and read all the article that were provided and I am a little confused as to how the “Fileset FTP” protocol works or “should work”. ❓

Can someone give a good explanation of how to setup the “Fileset FTP” protocol on an outbound thread? …Or point me to a good resource? This was not covered very well in the Cloverleaf classes I have taken (no offense, the classes are good, but this particular subject is not covered well).

In reading through the results I received from my search it seems there are some problems with the “Fileset FTP” protocol causing some problems with slowing down or stopping the engine if the FTP server on the other side is down. Is this a real issue or was something possibly set up wrong on that particular site?

At this point, I am trying to decide if it will be best for me to use the “Fileset FTP” protocol inside Cloverleaf or use something else to transport my files? Any explanations, suggestions or documentation would be very much appreciated.

My FTP runs in a upoc thread with tcl scripts and an ftp tcl package.  I have avoided the fileset-FTP due to documented struggles of others with this.

I am trying to use Cloverleaf (in a Windows 2000 enviromnet) to ftp some files over to a SCO Unixware 7.1.3 box. I put in the information it asked for on the FTP tab and it still isn’t connecting, it just times out. But I can connected jusf fine from thtat same box using command line FTP.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
