Almost every night at about the same time, all of the threads go dead.  The only way to get them back up and running is to stop and start the monitor Daemon.  The only error message that we can find is this:

[aler:aler:WARN/0:  hicmonitord] Can’t stat file system ‘{C:}’:  No such file or directory.

      OS:  Windows 2000

      Version:  5.3

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

My first question is have you checked to see if any backups are running at that time or any other process that may cause this.

Check with you system folks and see what is going on.

Actually, your threads don’t die. They just look dead because the monitor daemon died.

Yes, we’ve checked, and nothing has changed on scheduled processes, such as backups, so we’ve ruled that out as a problem.

As Michael indicated, your threads should not be dead; restarting the monitor daemon, and prehaps a refresh of the NetMonitor display should show them at their normal state.

As to your problem… I am a unix guy, so…

Might if have something to do with permissions of the HCI user on the system drive?
