error logs under <site>/exec/errors directory

In cleaning up old files I noticed that there were some very large files in this directory with the name of core..date and .log..date.  The log files look like the same file that is under the process directory and the core file is not readable.  What cause these files to be generated?

Core files are usually generated when a process crashes (e.g. C programs dump core files on unix). Generally you can use a debugger like dbx (on unix) to view the core file. But you probably don’t have the souce code so you might have to check with the support group. Hope this helps.
