The other day I lost connectivity to my GUI.   I did an “emergency save” when prompted because I was working on a tcl proc.  Now it is telling me that it can’t find the file and I don’t know where to find it.  Everytime I log into that site it takes me through a couple of annoying prompts now that taunt me with the fact that I can’t find the file.

Can anyone tell me where I can find this file and how I can get rid of these pesky prompts?

      Thanks in advance…

      Tom

          Tom,

This happens to me all the time as I work permanently over a VPN that just goes away at times.

I have found that the emergency save function does not work reliably (at least for me) on 5.6.

My defense is to save often and when I do lose connectivity I don’t do the Emergency Save. Now understand when I lose connectivity via the VPN they have here just about the only way to get it back is to reboot. So I don’t even try to close down the GUI, I just reboot and then deal with the locks as they appear when I come back – oh yeah and also recover what I was working on when I lost connectivity.

I did have that annoying taunt for a while when I actually did try Emergency Save and I did eventually get rid of it but I cannot recall how.

Thanks Jim.  Right now my problem is getting rid of that annoying taunt.  It just sits there laughing at me  😆 everytime I log in to that site.  Please someone, tell me how to make it go away!

            Thanks….

            Tom   🙁

              Hello all!

After an exhaustive search and picking the brains of others, I have finally rid myself of that nasty little taunt.   I had to go to the ../integrator/client/cache directory on my local CLIENT machine.  There were 3 files that I had to delete.  One was the toc.dat file and the other two were *.cte files.   Once those files were cleared out, then everything started working fine.

Just a note, I DID NOT and WILL NOT touch the toc.dat file that is on the server.   😀

              Later….Tom

This is why I prefer to work on TCL procs in an editor outside of the IDE 🙂

I too used to work on TCL on an editor outside of the IDE.   Then I ran into a situation one day where I needed a copy from the revisions directory.   Whoops…..it isn’t there because I’m working on it in an editor.

If there is a way that I can have the best of both worlds, PLEASE let me know.

                  Thanks….Tom

                    Tom,

I use Ultraedit and it has version backup.

I keep all source code on a revision control system.  I’d recommend git or SVN.
