Does Anyone Use CL to Merge PDFs?

We have a need to take a couple of thousand PDFs a day, merge them into batches of about 500, and SFTP them elsewhere.  Our current process of merging has been less than satisfactory.

I’ve been wondering if there isn’t a way to utilize Cloverleaf and/or tcl to handle this process.  Has anyone done something like this?
