I have a state 14 message in the recovery database.  The recovery procs are working as they should and our re-sending the state 14 message.  The receiving vendor says they want me to remove this message and go onto the next message.  Can I just safely remove this message 14 from the recovery database, without causing any issues or panics?

I think so, yes. Bring down the process first.

I deleted the msg 14 message and all was OK.  But here is weird part…..The vendor told me they will not acknowledge a message if there is something in the message it does not like!!  (In this case a phone extension in PID:14) 😈  I said but this what the acknowledge message is for, why not send an AE or AR back, if you don’t send any acknowledgement how am I suppose know what is going on?  Ugh Vendors 🙄

They don’t send an ACK, NACK, anything?

Nope they send NADA!  ðŸ˜¯ They gave some excuse of “that is way it is, blah blah”  I am going to modified the resend proc to check for max resends and then error out the message….not sure what else I can do  ðŸ˜¥

              Bummer!

Just add logic to the resend proc that after X number of resends, send it to the Error Database.

You gotta do what you gotta do  ðŸ™‚

Yes that is what I am going to do, but you have to admit that is pretty *crappy* way of communicating. 😡 At least when I communicate with my kids they “acknowledge” they heard me  ðŸ˜‰

                  Welcome to our world, Gary.

We have a “vendor” with about a dozen interfaces.  Each one will AA, but none will AE or AR.

The really sad part is this “vendor” is a group of my co-workers (home grown application).  We beg and plead and point out the logic, and they just shrug and say no.  It doesn’t happen that often, thankfully.
