      Hi there,

Most alerts are set so trigger when anything has not occured during a certain time. I would like to reverse this. I want to define an alert which triggers everytime the thread, to which the alert defintion refers to,  receives a message.

Has anyone had any experience with this specific situation?

      Suggestions most welcome.

      Thanx in advance.

      Micha

          Michael,

I must preface saying I did not take a look at the potentials within Alerts and since we are on 5.6 I am not familiar with the potentials of the new Alerts.

I would consider using an Inbound TPS UPoC proc. It would naturally get fired off each time a message arrives.

            Michael,

I had a similar situation. I am not sure what you are trying to achieve, but an alert may not be necessary.

Depending on your need, you may simply place a Tcl script in the “TPS Inbound Data” of your receiving thread. You could stack this script right after the RawHL7Ack (or whatever script you use to generate your Acks). (I assume you would want to Ack first to the sender then execute the code that performs the desired action.)

In my particular case, I just needed to send a notification e-mail to some people every time an MFN message was received by a thread, and this has worked perfectly over the years.

            I hope this helps.
