Cures for ‘Opening..’ status

      Hi,

      New to Cloverleaf so apologies for silly questions or poor terminology.

      I have a thread sitting at ‘Opening’; I can ping the remote server and telnet to port 80 on it but not the port we need to connect to:

      alt>telnet xx.xxx.xx.xx yyyy                                

      Trying…                                                  

      telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

      Does this point definitively to the port being closed? I understood it did until the chap responsible for that server ran the netstat command on it which showed the port is open.

      I’ve checked with our comms team that there isn’t an ACL preventing communication.

      What else should i be checking?

          I just went through trying to connect from Cloverleaf to a new remote server interface with a group that is learning on the job and was using mule soft interface tool.

          I wasted time with assumptions that cost me time since they essentially knew very little.

          After looking at firewall and interface configs for access control, I asked them to do a localhost interface loop connect with themselves.

          Turned out that didn’t even work and guess what, it was a licensed product and they had not purchased the license.

            You can also check that another interface from another site on your box hasn’t grabbed the port.

            Occassionally if I’m not careful our nonprod interface might be configured to use the same port and if that interface is running it may have the port.

            On AIX run:

            lsof | grep
