I am in the process of upgrading from CL5.6 to CL5.8.5 (OS = AIX) and with the upgrade I would like to change my index notation from the field number that we have always used to the # notation.

I feel like I read somewhere recently that there was a script that would go through your site and convert your Xlate and Tcl scripts from the field number notation to the # notation  (EX:  0(0).0(0).PV1.133(0)..

Anyone know what script that is, or was this a creation of my sleep deprived brain dreaming about how I think the world should be?

I know I can change my preferences and everything I create from now on will be the new notation, but I would like to get my old code up to snuff without having to rewrite it all.

      Any help would be appreciated!

If I recall correctly, there is a tool out there for this.  It may not be 100% perfect, but it does the trick for the most part.  I think it came from Charlies Bag of Tricks.  I will look and see if I can find it, but hopefully Charlie or someone who has it will chime in.

DO a search on changeXLT.  In the last post by Charlie there is a file name changeXLT.htc that I beleive will get you a long way in the direction you are heading…
