I ran across a command that compared two lists and created a third as a result and wondered if anyone had seen this, had a script that does this, or knows another way to compare two lists and create a list of those that match?

I found this command (no source) at a D3 Online site:

      http://www.d3ref.com/index.php

      search for tcl.compare-list

I haven’t been able to determine if you can get this code.

What we are trying to do is to compare a lab result string with a file/list containing values for organisms that we want to include in a list of results to MDPH (see a previous post by Bill Pitts).

I’m thinking if we separate OBX:5 into a list and then do a list match, that might give us some matches we can use to convert.

There is a really good posting about this subject I found very helpful.

It was in November it was called “Arrays & Filenames”

John, thank you – the intersect command is exactly what I was looking for.

A little coding and testing tomorrow and I might be all set.
