Running CL 5.5: Does anyone know what command line arguments can be used with the new improved (but unsupported) hciguismat?  We have scripts that run the older hcismat and use the -i argument to load a particular smat file.  It would be really nice to do that with the new smat tool also.

I don’t know if you ever got this answered.

With 5.5 you can still get a listing of all command line argument just by typing “hcismat -?” which give you and error but tells you all the options

Thanks John, but hciguismat appears to work differently (or at least have different command line options) than hcismat.  What I am trying to do is build a smat file then trigger hciguismat to run and load the file.  We are running CL on AIX 5.3.

We are at QDX 5.2.1P2 and have scripts that use the old hcismat with command line args, too.

For example, one of our scripts (ascii_smat_to_nl.ksh) runs

              hcismat -i $idx_file -orsf $len10_file -sall

So my question along these lines I hope someone can answer is, “Can I continue using the old hcismat when I upgrade to QDX 5.5 or higher; or should I start using something else like hciguismat and figure out how to get it to do the same thing that hcismat does?”

                Russ,

The old hcismat scripts still work at 5.5.  We are trying to phase out our X-windows dependency and use the supported hciguismat.  Quovadx has improved the GUI smat to the point where we are ready to move that direction.  We are trying to figure out a way to get hciguismat to automatically load a file a startup the way our hcismat scripts did.
