Combining multiple records into one segment

I have a flat file I am processing that contains 2 record types that I need to combine to make an FT1 message.  The two records occur sequentially in the file and are always present.  

As a new cloverleaf user with little training, any help on how to merge these records into one is appreciated.

Alan,

  You might want to look at creating two FRL or VRL formats to depict your two record types in your flat file.  then Create an HRL to put them into a grouping.  After that you should be able to use the translation Config to loop through your file and translate to the HL7 message.(DFT) which contains the FT1 segment.
