For those of you, whether to drink the Java Kool-Aid or not  ðŸ˜€  , that would like to play around with Java in Cloverleaf.

I found what seems to be a pretty good entry level tutorial on YouTube.

It is called Cloverleaf Java TPS Part 1 and Cloverleaf Java TPS Part 2.

I don’t  think I know the guy that is doing it but it looks pretty good.  Have a look.

          Definitely interesting.

Not being a Java developer but understanding some of the concepts, I can see how it can be used but Java is extremely wordy.

          Thanks for posting.

Thanks for sharing, Charlie. I found the Part 2 of the tutorial to be very interesting.

For those who are concerned about Java’s verbosity, they should take a look at Groovy. It is concise, very expressive, and takes the wordiness away from Java:

            http://groovy-lang.org/

Used in a Cloverleaf TPS, Groovy makes it extremely easy to access web services (SOAP and REST), process XML and JSON, working with  databases, etc.

If you were going to recommend a book or online class to a complete Java beginner who’s main interest is using it with Cloverleaf and possibly other Integration-type tools, what would you recommend?

The two books I would recommend are:

                  Java for Programmers by Deitel

                  Beginning Java by Ivor Horton

If you like online video tutorials, go to http://www.udemy.com

There is an excellent class called: Java for Complete Beginners. It will help you a lot.

Having watched the 2 Youtube videos, I’m wondering if there is more information available online ?

Ideally I could use more examples and some hints on how to distribute the class/jar files.

                    Thanks in advance.

                      Ib,

The placement of the Java .class and jar files is discussed in the following post:
