Cloverleaf 5.8.5 on Windows server 2008.

I have threads running as servers, that when receiving an RST packet from the remote system will not drop the connection.

Netstat and the Cloverleaf console show an intact connection yet the other system will begin sending SYN packets requesting a new connection.  These are rejected as we have everything configured to only accept one connection.   I prefer to stay away from multi-server as that is only a band-aid, masking the real issue.

Is this behavior configurable through PDL?   How can I fix this as lately I am spending way too much time dealing with connectivity issues.

No, this interface with routed traffic, no VPN or firewall.

Well is the foreign system disconnecting then asking for a new connection or is it just asking for more than one connnection concurrently?

David, try turning on EOALIAS to monitor the low level communication. Are you having these connectivity issues with just the one application or with all of your connecting applications?

I have been watching this one connection with Wireshark.  I have seen others with similar behavior.

Some good discussion about RST packets here:

This is understood.  The question remains is when receiving a RST packet Cloverleaf does not tear down the connection and start over?

In my case the condition occurs after 20 minutes of inactivity.  Though the other party swears their equipment is not set up to do this it still happens.  Shweesh.

David, I am not sure to be honest. I would suggest submitting the question through Infor Xtreme.

                      David,

You are correct, this is an OS issue, not a Cloverleaf bug.  Thanks for reminding me.

However it never does hurt to throw the query out to the community, someone may have solved this behavior previously.

                        Just one more reason……   😉
