      Hi all,

I have received a lot of feedback regarding support for Windows 7 as a client platform for Cloverleaf 6.2.  As you may know, Microsoft has discontinued this platform from official support and transitioned to long-term paid support.  This factored into our decision to deprecate this as a certified platform.

However, I understand that many organizations are “stuck” on Windows 7 for a desktop o/s for the near term which is slowing adoption of Cloverleaf 6.2.

With this, we are strongly considering re-certifying Windows 7 for client-only for the next Cloverleaf 6.2 hotfix.

I would appreciate any feedback you have on this.

      Thanks!

          Rob,

I would support the re-certification of Client Only for Windows 7.  I’m not sure what the timeline is for our organization to move to Windows 10, but the fact that Windows 7 wasn’t certified for 6.2 was a factor in our decision to postpone moving to 6.2 for the time being.

          Thanks,

Until our organization upgrades off Windows 7, or this Infor recertifies on Windows 7, we cannot upgrade.

We’re still on Windows 7, so we can’t upgrade either.  Our organization has begun testing Windows 10, but no date to migrate to 10 has been set.

Yes, this is of strong interest to our organization as we are on Windows 7 with a very slow push to Windows 10. No date has been set for Windows 10.

Since we are on 6.0.2 using Windows 7, we can’t upgrade to 6.2 using our current PCs. So if no change is made, we would have to get creative with the budget for temporary PCs for our 10+ team members. That likely won’t go over too well.

Thank you for considering 6.2 on Windows 7. It would be a definite benefit and customer satisfier.

                  Nate

I would agree with everyone else, i think CL 6.2 needs to be certified on windows 7, because my ORG is not rushing to windows 10 either.

I asked for laptops with windows 10 on it but my team will have to use two different setups if that is approved.

The same with our organization. They are about ready to start a phased roll out as they go through the pc replacement cycle but no plans to upgrade pc’s in place.

While I understand the wheels of progress turn very slow sometimes, your management must be made aware of what they are risking

The latest “ransomware” attack was aimed at hospitals.  Those affected were those that did not have the latest OS and security patches as released by Microsoft

                        Something to consider besides Cloverleaf

Same is here. We are very slow to move to a newer OS. As far as I know no plans for our hospital to upgrade to Win 10 yet.

                            Yes please!

We are now rolling out a new Citrix/VMWare based platform throughout our two merged hospitals, but this platform is still Windows 7 based. So it will take a long time before we will upgrade to something else.

Cloverleaf engineers mostly use a separate dedicated pc to log onto Cloverleaf, but that pc is also Windows 7.

Any updates on this?  We are starting to think about installing Cloverleaf 6.2 on a test system, but then we’ll need Windows 10 devices, along with our Windows 7 devices for our 6.1.2 systems.

                              thanks,

We do plan to certify Windows 7 client-only for the next 6.2.x hotfix.  You should see it in the near future.  I’ll announce when it’s GA.
