Anyone have experience with running Cloverleaf 6.0 on Windows Server 2008 in an HA cluster? And/or VM architechture?
Our Management staff has asked that we do some research about running the newest version of Cloverleaf on a Windows environment and on Virtual servers.
We run one of our production sites on CL 6.0 on a 2-node Win2008 cluster. If all goes well, the other production site, which runs on another cluster, will be on CL 6.0 and Win2008 tonight. I know of no issues specifically related to running CL 6.0 on a Win2008 cluster. The clustering aspect of it works as well as CL 5.8.x worked on a Win2003 cluster. The way we have the clustering set up, it is active/inactive. That is, only one node in the cluster at a time is attached to the SAN and servicing interfaces.
We run our test sites on a single VMWare virtual server. It is running CL 6.0 on Win2008. I know of no issues specifically related to this being on VMWare.
We have no sites that are both clustered and virtual.
We are running CL on Windows 2008 R2 in a virtual environment with no ill effects. Have been running our production environment with this setup for a couple of months as we continue to move from a physical server running CL 5.5 to 6.0.
Installing the 6.0.2 patch soon but we have had no issues.
HTH.
