changing HL7 formatting

I am not sure how to proceed with this problem. I am writing HL7 messages to a file and ftp’ing them in a batch. I need to find a mechanism to put a crlf at the end of each segment.

Is there something I can put in the HL7 configuration for the outbound message? Does someone have a script that I could run on the completed file before the ftp?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I’m somewhat new to HL7 as well but…

Isn’t it an HL7 standard that segments are separated by CR.

Messages are seperated by LF.
