We’re migrating from 5.7 to 6.1.2 and, as part of the process, are looking to chain some of our xlates together.

      Questions:

      1. Is anything special needed from a variant/xlate standpoint to create a chain?

      2. How do you test? Just run a message through the route test?

      Regards,

      Mike Keys

        1. The xlates can use the same variant or different variants just like any xlate. There is nothing special about the xlates used in a chain.

        2. What I do is use the XLT testing tool on the first and save the output to a file and then use that file as the input to the next xlate in the chain. Once I am finished with the unit testing, then I move on to the route testing tool.
