On an AIX server, should any of the directories under $HCISITEDIR not be included in incremental backups? Any particular files in $HCISITEDIR/exec directory structure?

I’m curious becuase we found an issue that has been going on for quite a while. During a backup, we’ve noticed that the engine would not generate replies to messages received in inbound thread, nor receive replies for external systems. Once the backup was completed or stopped, all data went through without issue.

      Anyone experience this?

          Mike,

I believe you should exclude everything under the $HCISITEDIRexec directory as this is where all of the transient data is processed/processing (recovery databases, Saved Message files, process logs, etc.).

I would think you would want to backup your SMAT files, at least the archived ones.  However, if you archive your SMAT files outside the exec directory you would be OK.
