Enhancement Long Description:

Allow a name and/or description to be entered for each alert. A name would be useful just to idenitify the alert but a description would be very useful when somebody is reading the alert file to figure out what alerts have been configured and where.

Even being able to place comment lines via an editor in the alerts file without having them stripped out by the alerts configurator would be useful.
