Alert type – error count

Recently we had a alert trigger for an error count type of alert.  I’ve been interpreting this as getting an error in the error database.  However, when I went to look in the error database, I could not find any.  The documentation makes a reference to a “transaction error”, but I do not see where that is defined.  Where do transaction errors show up?

We are running CL 5.8.5 on AIX 5.3  .

Take a look at the “Failed” value on the thread status. This value is cumulative and doesn’t decrease when you delete messages from the error db. It is reset to zero when stats are reset.

The value for Failed is 0 (zero) for every thread.

Do you have a scheduled job that does an hcimsiutil -Z to your threads?

Yes we do.  We reset every night at midnight.  I just modified our script to to a hcimsiutil -X instead of hcimsiutil -Z yesterday so that the times do not get reset.  It did not trigger last night, but then, it had not been triggering every night either.
