Alert query

Hi,

I’m setting up an alert to use ‘last receve’ but I’m confused about some of the parameters. I understand setting up the duration to 10 N minutes for example which would alert if no data was received in a 10 minute period. So what is the ‘Comparing to’ box required for? Does it need populating and if so what with?

Hi Garry,

That one took me quite a while to figure out. Right now I have a lot of ‘last receive’ alerts configured this way:

Alert Type: last receive

Source:

Source Count: all

Comparing: >=  1800

Duration: once

Time Window: * * 9-16 * * 1-5

This alert will go off on weekdays between 9:00 and 16:00 when hasn’t received a message in the last 1800 seconds.

I remember that I just tried several configurations and this was the one that worked for me.

Actually Robert’s alert will go off from 9:00 – 16:59 weekdays.
