      Hi cloverleafers,

I’m setting up some alerts and I am unfamiliar with some of the options of Alert type.

Specifically, the total latency & inbound latency options. Wouldn’t the latter be the equivalent of, ‘last message received’ ?

      TIA,

I am thinking ‘last received’ is a time-of-day value and ‘ib latency’ is an elapsed time measurement. So ‘last received’ would tell us when the last message arrived, and ‘ib latency’ would tell us how much time elapsed between this message and the one before.

If I am correct with the above assumptions, then ‘total latency’ would be the total latencey from the time the thread was started (so divided by number of messages should give average latency per message).

Of course, I could be way off base here but I would think an observation in a controlled test environment would give a proper insight if the help does not provide clarity.

Makes sense.  I’ll do some testing to verify.

Jim, thanks for the quick response, much appreciated.
