ack issue

We just installed a new system where we recieve results through a VPN. Occasionally we (cloverleaf) stops recieving messages from the vendor but they say the already have an ack way before we get the message.

      For example:

Report was signed off and sent through a VPN to cloverleaf, vendor says they received the ack immediately at 1:34, but nothing hit cloverleaf until 2:15, when we in turn send them back our ack. There is a long gap between when messages are received and then we are flooded with results. What can i check on cloverleaf side and i am wondering where they are getting there initial ack back from ?

They just sent me the ack they say they got at 1:34 and it is timestamped 2:15.

      Any ideas?

Umm are both system’s clocks synchronized? It could be your 2:15 is their 1:34.

It sure seems unlikely (given the still binding laws of physics) your ack could arrive before they sent the message (assuming same time zone and the ack is for the message sent)  ðŸ˜®

What time stamp do they have on the message they sent (not your time stamp but their’s)?

Oh and by time stamp do you mean inside the message (ack and message) or an external system time stamp (like SMAT has)?

Thanks for the reply. It was the timestamp in the message. After i pointed that out and asked if they had invented time travel they changed thier tune a little bit and believe something in thier configuration caused an issue. But i am waiting to hear confirmation on what they changed.

              Vendor:

Oh you can prove what you say is true while we just speculate – never mind.

Thankfully Cloverleaf provides us with tools where we can KNOW what we are talking about and can prove it 😀
