      Hello,

      Can anyone tell me what does the CA mean in this ACK.  I am used to seeing an “AA” or “AR” and not “CA”.

      MSH|^~&|RPMS||||20120817171005-0700||ACK^ACK|IHS-64215730|P|2.4||||||

      MSA|CA|20122300000082|||||

      Thanks

      Femina

          Femina,

          The receiving system can best tell you what that means.

          However in my past I have seen:

             CA mean Commit Accepted when the integration piece is committing to the application DB. Ususally there will be 2 acknowledgments in this case. One that indicates the message is received (AA) and then the CA.

             CA mean Conditionaly Accepterd. I had this when the receiving system wanted to indicate the message was accepted but there was an issue which would  be logged in their application log.

            Thanks Jim.  So, in order to get an AA back do we need to do something programmatically or do we put an “NE” in MSH 15 and “AL” in MSH 16???

              Femina,

              That all depends on the receiving system.

              With some systems CA is considered the same as AA and that might be the case here.

              I would ask the Receiving system what this means and whatever other questions you might have.
