I have gotten so much great info from this site, I thought I would take a second to give back a little. I did a search and didn’t find anything on this so hopefully this isn’t old news.

Some of you may have stumbled on the GUI bug that causes the mouse cursor to occasionally stay in a permanent hourglass, especially when testing.  When I was at Infor training this past summer, the instructor mentioned this bug and said the only way to fix it was to restart the IDE. While the constant display of hourglass or whatever “waiting” icon is a minor annoyance, having to close and reopen the IDE is a pain.

Here is a trick I found. When this happens in the future, simply go to the Site Manager tree view and double-click on one of the plus signs and BAM, your cursor is back to normal.

Cool, must try this as we sometimes see an hourglass as well (although we are currently using 5.5/5.7).

            Thanks!

I can confirm that this does indeed work. I submitted this info to R&D. Thanks for the tip!

Max, this is still occurring in CL 6.1.0

Does R&D have this on their radar?

              I’ll check .. brb.

We just bumped this up to high priority. No promises, but should see it in CIS 6.2.

We are on 6.0.2 and recently I had the hourglass problem again a few times. And I just noticed that Mike’s original trick still applies, although I needed to open a tcl-proc from the Site Manager to get rid of the hourglass.

Beats closing all tabs and restarting.

I know this is an old thread, but this “trick” works for 6.2 as well.

That thing has been driving me crazy for years!  I guess I just now got fed up enough to see if there was a solution.

                  Thanks Mike!

Just read the rest of the replies and saw Max’s comment about it possibly being fixed in 6.2 . . . it’s not.   🙁
