3DES

Anyone have any experience in 3DES they could share.

Beginning a project to encrypt some data in a message.

Looking for gotchas as I get started.

Hello Scott,

I’m assuming you already know about the 3DES utilities in $HCIROOT/tcl/lib/tcllib1.14/des.  (Path may be slightly different depending on Cloverleaf version)

We created an XLT proc that can be used with a COPY statement during translation – ours provides AES encryption of the field being copied.

Key management is usually a gotcha whenever encryption is required.
