Thanks to Ron, I have been able to do as requested. Here is how to use the math function:

set the variable:

=0   @obx

use the Math ADD function

input:                         output:

=1                              @obx

@obx

next line w/in the translation file

@obx      1(%g1).OBX.00569(0)

works like a charm!
