Did you specifically search for the word PANIC (all caps) or “Shutting down” in the process log file and the .old process log? Was there anything unusual in the proces .err file or the err.old file?
Another thing to check would be the “exit_log” file – it contains a brief description of the last exit and will show the date and time.
If there’s really nothing at this point perhaps there was a hard reboot for some reason?
Also check when the process logs started relative to your problem. If the process got cycled a few times since the problem its possible that the information about the engine shutdown is gone. Only the currently active log file and one generation of “.old” files is normally kept.
