I’m having the same problem in 5.3 so maybe it’s fixed in 5.4?
My solution is to put that thread in it’s own process.
I do the same thing with sna threads.
Granted there is inter process communcation going on now, but when it thrashes and hoses it’s own process and leaves everyone else alone.
