      I’m converting each row of the flat file (pipe delimited) to an HL7 message.

      VRL to HL7

      If any row of the input file has 96 characters (including the separator but excluding the carriage return and new line feed), the message errors.

      Any char count of over/under 96 works. If I add a character to any of the field in the input file, it works.

      Ive checked the VRL, HRL, Global Properties, Xlates settings. I’ve ensured that the input file has no additional padded characters.

      Any idea? What’s special about the 96 characters per line?

      Thanks,

      Jay

          Jay,

          What release of Cloverleaf?

          A bug has been discovered in 6.2.0.2 (see:

          https://usspvlclovertch2.infor.com/viewtopic.php?t=8460&highlight=vrl

          )

          While the situation is not identical, perhaps it is related.

          Do you get an error in the VRL testing tool as well as the Xlate testing tool?

          If everything checks out it may be worth reporting to Infor support.

              jay,

              You may have already checked this but make sure there are no unprintable characters in the file.

              Also be aware of any of the multi-byte characters which may cause issues depending on the encoding selected.
