We had a downtime the other day and were attempting to use the hcisitecleanup instead of manually removing the monitorShmem file.  We discovered that it worked on some sites instead of others but not all sites had the monitorShmem file removed.  We had made sure no hci commands were running.  the hcisitecleanup command when run does not state that it found and is removing this file.

We are on CL 6.2 on linux – are others using the hcisitecleanup command and having issues with it not always doing the cleanup it is supposed to do?

Are the commands being run under the same user (ie hci)?

If they are executed by another user, it may create the file under the wrong user, and cannot be deleted due to permissions on the file.

It’s best to ensure the exec folders are read only for other users to prevent accidentally creating files under the wrong user.
