We would like to setup test and dev environment on one server due to licensing.

Has anyone configured earlier? If yes, can you please provide me some insights.

      Thanks

          Hi Satish,

If I understand your question correctly, setting up multiple environments on the same O/S instance cannot be done without using different versions of Clvf. Even then, you’ll run into issues with user access (logging in) as each user name is typically tied to a certain installation of Cloverleaf. Plus, you have to watch out for port number conflicts, etc. A simple and better pathway would be to use different LPARs and purchase a Dev License from Infor.

If you are just looking to have a Dev environment for upgrading Clvf, then you can request a temporary license from Infor to get you through the process.

It is possible to set up multiple HCIROOT folders on the same server.

you’ll need to use setroot to switch between them, and have to be careful about accidental using the wrong instance.

Probably need to allocate port ranges for the different environments.

It may be possible to create multiple virtual NICs and bind the server tcp connections to the respective ip addresses.

I wouldn’t really recommend the above except for a stop gap measure, and I don’t know if there’s any license issues with it. It’s always better to have the environments on different servers to prevent accidental changes, or accidental sending data to the wrong environment.
