      CL v5.8.5  Sun, Solaris 10, HL7 v2.5.1

      XML to HL7.  Message ORU_R01.

      See attachment 2.

The OBX is inside the OBR loop. Can it be pulled out and become on the same level as the OBR?

      See attachment 1.

The NTE is inside the OBR loop and OBX loop.  Can it be pulled out and become on the same level as the OBR and OBX?

I tried it and got the duplicate element error.

Why?  Trading Partner wants to send in this format, not standard format:

If no, would I have to create my own variant and use Iterate on type segment?

If I understand this correctly you are iterating over some repeating element in the XML message and when you get to the NTE following the OBX you want it to be after the OBR in the outbound HL/7 message.

If so, you cannot iterate over the outbound but you can place the XML NTE data wherever you want in the HL/7 message just by pointing to the proper place in the destination panel of the Xlate GUI.

No need to modify the variant you presented.
