      Question

My UNIX/AIX team is looking to upgrade all unix servers to AIX 7.1 from AIX6.1, my understanding is Cloverleafs supported highest version is 5.8.7 on AIX 6.1.

But we need to upgrade to Cloverleaf 6.1 in order for it to be support on AIX 7.1

      Does this still hold true?

Are there any gotchas for upgrading to cloverleaf 6.1 on a UNIX/AIX platform.

      all replies appreciated.

          Mike,

If you are going to upgrade, you might as well move to Cloverleaf version 6.1.2; or at least 6.1.1.  We have been running Cloverleaf 6.1.1 since August and have not experienced any issues.  There are a few things to pay attention to in the release notes (i.e. “Issue in CIS 6.1 while parsing the subcomponent separator (&)” ), but nothing extreme – except for the change in the GUI itself, but you adapt.

When we upgraded to 6.1.1 from 5.8.5, we stayed on AIX 6.1 (with ML9) as both versions of Cloverleaf can run on that.  We will be upgrading the OS to AIX 7 in the near future.  We kept the OS at that level, just in case we need to roll-back to 5.8.5 for some reason; we didn’t want to try to do both (OS & Cloverleaf) at the same time.
