    Hello,

Has anyone had an issue where an XLATE has stopped functioning? I opened up an XLATE and just added a PID field that I wanted copied and it doesn’t copy. I’ve run it through multiple test files and everything prior still copies, but not the new PID. I’ve closed and reopened the XLATE, still the same thing. If I build a new XLATE on the fly, and run the same test file through, the items copy. Any thoughts? Haven’t run into this before, I could remake the XLATE, but if I can avoid that I would like to.

    Thank you,

    Jon

      Jon,

Did you add the field to the variant or was it already there?

Did you type in the Address Path for the destination or did you select from the Message definition Tree?

Perhaps a screen shot of the section of the Xlate in question would help.

      Jim,

It is just simply PID15, already in the variant.

I used the definition tree to make sure I didn’t mistype anything. I’ve attached a screenshot, hopefully you can see something I am just overlooking.

      Thank you,

      Jon

Have you used the search to make sure there is no other reference to PID-15 later in the Xlate (including PATHCOPY for the PID)?

Not often, but when it happens, it’s bad.  Usually a long editing session and lots of tester tool activity, it appears the GUI is showing mods, but they are not being stored on disk.  When this happens, I usually look at xlate in UNIX (using less command) and see that my changes aren’t there.  I close the GUI down, open it up and reopen the Xlate.  I suspect this is a Java issue, but since it rearely happens, I just shut things down and start again.

      Hope this helps,
