While I am trying to append the file using Fileset-FTP protocol, it overwrites it every time. I checked the ‘Append data’ in protocol configuration, but nothing happened. I overwrote the DRIVERCTL ‘OBAPPEND’, but no use.

Fileset-local is working fine with the same configuration.

Can anyone help me out if I am missing something, or it’s a known issue?

      Thanks,

      Shikher

Has FTP append ever worked to this destination before?

Does FTP append work with other destinations?

          Is this a binary file?

Does FTP append work from the command line?

Not all FTP servers work the same.

            Hi Shikher,

I’ve just recently had this same issue.  I could not get FTP or SFTP to append.  I resolved it by switching the protocol on CL to FTPS. You may not have this same option as, I think, its a licensed feature.  I didn’t thoroughly research to determine if the issues was with CL or with the FTP server. Also, the CL documentation has this note:

            Quote:

Note: An SFTP Server using OpenSSH does not support the append option on SFTP uploads. When using the append option on SFTP uploads, ensure the server supports this option.

If I have time, I’ll try to determine if the remote FTP host is receiving an APPE or STOR command and report appropriately.

The CL server: CL 6.1 Redhat Linux.

I took a few minutes to double check my claim today.  My results are a little different than I previously stated.  I check the append feature for the protocols FTP, SFTP, and FTPS.  Append worked for FTP and FTPS.  When I switched to SFTP with APPEND check in the fileset-ftp configurations, CL sent the FTP STOR command. That is, CL overwrote rather than appended to the remote file.

Tested on CL 6.1 Redhat Linux

Thanks Jared, the same thing is happening to me while using SFTP. The file is not getting appended but over written.

                Append is working with FTPS.
