Just wanted people here to be aware about this bug in CL 6.x.

We experienced this behaviour in CL GUI 6.0 and 6.1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012.

Sometimes (if you have a script window(s) open long enough) it may blank your script out leaving you with a blank script tab and asterisk on the tab signifying that the script changes haven’t been saved.

If you click save it will save empty file instead of your script. Fortunately it does save the actual script in Tcl revisions, so it can be restored.

We didn’t find a way to reproduce it. It just happens occasionally when the GUI is open for long time.

When it happened this morning I had two Script Editor tabs open and both blanked out. If you close the tab(s) a pop up message will ask if you want to save changes and if you click yes your script is gone.

I created a service order #8602672 with Infor.

We foudn this problem usually happens when we have a script up, either modified or saved, and we remote into our desktop from another location/computer. When we return to our desktop, the script window is blank, the tab with name has an asterisk and saving it will erase the content from tclprocs file. So we always close without saving and reopen. and we try to ‘save early and often’.

This happens with earlier versions of CL as well; we’re runnning 5.7 R2 on AIX, and it occurs.  We follow the same actions as Peter describes.
