Question on reuse of XLTP in Xlate

I have a xltp that looks in a phone number field/subfields and formats the phone number content. It’s generic and makes no specific references to segments (PID GT1 IN1).

I’ve place the xltp on all the phone number fields in the xlate – so I can format them all the same way – build once reuse many.

The problem:

I’m finding that it only works on the first instance that it’s called to (for example PID:13) in the xlate, and all subsequent instances/uses of the xltp in the xlate are ignored (PID:14, GT1, IN1).

Can someone explain why a single xltp script can’t be used over and over in the same xlate?
