So I’m trying to troubleshoot some truncation differences I’ve seen between HL7 2.6 output on a 5.8 install, and output from a test 6.1 environment. The routing, translates, tables, etc are identical between the two so I have been wondering if it might be this site-wide option which is mentioned in the 6.1 help files:
(from the help page for Options > Site Options)
HL7 Message tab
Selecting Force engine not to truncate any content will force the engine not to truncate any field content even if the content is beyond the field length definition.
(additional info from the help page for HL7 messages)
HL7 Message Truncate Behavior
You can force the engine not to truncate any field content, even if the content is beyond field length definition, by selecting Force engine not to truncate any content on the Site Preferences dialog box
