Now I’ve seen a lot of interesting things in my life, but today I encountered one that has left me scratching my noggin.

We’re working with a new inbound ADT feed, and the sending system, until recently was not sending out MSH-11.  However, after running through an Xlate, with no TCL/Xlate code setting MSH-11, the message to the downstream system contained MSH-11=”P”.

I’m just wondering if this is a Cloverleaf feature (I see it happens when I run it through the Xlate testing tool).

      Thanks,

      Bob

New one for me.  I guess I would look to see if it were a PATHCOPY in the xlate or if the fields were defined as COPY individually.  If there are defined as COPY individually, could there be coding put into place in the Xlate that adds the value to MSH-11?

There are certain fields in the MSH the Xlate will fill out for you if you do not provide anything:

            MSH-1

            MSH-2

MSH-9 (taken from the Variant Message/Event you specified at configuration)

MSH-11 (The P you are seeing)

MSH-12 (again taken from what is specified in configuration).

The above is what is observed with 6.0.0 – in earlier releases I believe the MSH-7 (Date/Time of Message) was also filled in with the current date/time.

Mystery solved, but I figured it was value added by the Engine!   😀
