View Sites Lost

Running Global Monitor 6.0.1 on Windows Server 2008 64 bit no service packs.  200 GB of disk – only 2% consumed.  No other applications running with GM.  Server is virtualized.

Problem:  All sites for every view defined per user disappeared along with their configured aliases and SMAT indexing settings.

Examined the stdout log files – nothing suspicious found.

Incident logged with INFOR support – pending response.

      First suspect:  security software interference.

Did anyone experience this problem with their Global Monitor?

Did you determine root cause and implement preventative measures?

      Thanks.

          Greetings,

Update:  after doing a WebEx with INFOR support, we determined that our problems were similar to a reported incident from another customer running an earlier version of Global Monitor.

Cause:  too many processes in a site where the GM was unable to refresh its site statistics for a view and timed out.  Had a default behavior of deleting all the sites in the views BEFORE refreshing the sites.  As it timed out the refresh step did not occur.  Bug in 6.0.1.

Fix: apply patch 6.0.2 or upgrade to latest release – 6.0.4 as of this post.

Fix included.  Basically, default behavior is modified to NOT DELETE the sties if a refresh fails.

I hope this helps others out there who experience this problem.
