Lessons Learned – Updating Engine

We will be applying our first update within a month or so (6.0.1 to 6.0.2) and are wondering if anybody has any general advice, lessons learned, or dos and don’ts.

It looks fairly simple, but I’d rather not make the same mistakes many others have already made.

In a related question, we were thinking about creating a new cis directory, cis6.02, to avoid having to take down critical interfaces. We would then migrate the interfaces over time (as though it were a major upgrade).

Is this a good idea or a bunch of unnecessary work?
