Alert Action – email

Anyone know if the alert action email can use the alias file .mailrc on Linux systems?  I am guessing it is using sendmail and /etc/aliases.  I would like to configure it to use the .mailrc file…. Thanks….

I have used exec mail for most of my alerts with the aliases, but find I would like to customize or be more informative within the confines of the default.alrt file…
