Allscripts immunization messages and HL7 2.5.1

We are setting up a new immunization interface from Allscripts to NYSDOH and I am having trouble with the routing. I have set up the route to be VXU_V04 but the message never gets routed. I did not think that the extra compents in the MSH would make a difference but it appears that it does. I have also tried VXU_V04_VXU_V04 to no avail. This is what the MSH looks like;

MSH|^~&|SCM|^2916|NYSIIS|NYSIIS|20140409100321-0400||VXU^V04^VXU_V04|20140409100321-33237000200|T|2.5.1|||NE|AL||

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I would try it like this:
  
  In Route Properties, check the box “Wild Card Route”, and
  
  In Name: VXU_V04.*
  
  (The .* should account for all the extra characters that are causing the trouble).

  You could configure as a ‘wildcard’ route to route the message; i.e. VXU_V04.*

  Or set your routing to be VXU_V04_VXU_V04….the engine is just looking at the “^” to be “_”….
