We recieved the error below this weekend.  What is puzzling me is that it states “rad_ftp_cmd”.   The threads “do_hra_ris_r” and “do_rmi_ris_r” are outbound threads in the rad_ftp process.   However, the “f_digi_pv_r” and the “f_digi_nuc_r” threads are inbound multiserver threads on a totally separate process.

      Does anyone know why?

[nci :nci :ERR /0:  rad_ftp_cmd:03/31/2014 02:23:28] Check NetConfig error – error list:

      f_digi_pv_r Protocol PDL        TCP/IP: PDLTYPE ‘tcp-client’ is not     ‘tcp-server’

      f_digi_nuc_r Protocol PDL       TCP/IP: PDLTYPE ‘tcp-client’ is not     ‘tcp-server’

      [upoc:init:WARN/0: do_hra_ris_r:03/31/2014 02:23:28] Empty IB TPS configured — ignored

      [upoc:init:WARN/0: do_rmi_ris_r:03/31/2014 02:23:28] Empty IB TPS configured — ignored

      Thanks…

I found the culprit.   The two “digi” threads are multi-server and everything looked correct in the GUI configuration.   However, I did a validation on the NetConfig and came up with two errors…yep, those very two “digi” threads.   Even though the GUI said it was “multi-server” the NetConfig, when viewed from the command line had the PDLTYPE listed as “tcp-client”.   A simple resave of the NetConfig resolved the issue.   Still don’t know how it got that way in the first place.

Anyway, that may or not be part of the cause why the rad_ftp process keeps crashing.  However, since the errors in the error logs for the rad_ftp crash contains those two unrelated threads, I can’t help but think that somehow, someway, for some strange reason the two are related.   I start on call this week for the first time and I will see if I get any of those rad_ftp process crashes this week.

          Thanks…
