Error Protocol on error thrown in tcl proc

All,

I am using a tcl proc’s start,run, and shutdown modes.  Is there a way to cause the thread to error out when the database connection fails?  I am catching the error, but not real sure how to use that to stop the processing of the protocol that runs it.
