FreeTDS, tclodbc and Linux

I’m in the process of testing the FreeTDS ODBC driver with tclodbc on my Linux-based 5.6 Cloverleaf.

I built and installed the FreeTDS driver, unixODBC driver manager, and tclodbc – all successfully.

I can connect to my Paragon (MSSQL 2008) database just fine, and run (most) queries with no issues.

When I run a query to list the columns of a table, however, I get a segmentaton fault and it kills the Tcl shell I’m running in (that’s bad).

The query runs fine from tclodbc on Windows. When the same query is run from the unixODBC test utility (isql) on Linux it returns results with no segmentation fault.  So, it would appear the driver is OK and that the problem may be in tclodbc.

Do any of you have experience with this setup?  Any suggestions?

I have many years of flawless experience with tclodbc on Windows, so I’m confident that it will perform, but this segmentation fault thing is a deal-breaker.
